Planting in the Beds Along the Front Archway

After starting the broccoli and beet seeds in the greenhouse on January 19th, they were finally ready to be planted in the ground, so Colin set to work in the small beds on the outside of the front archway at the CACG.

First, Colin took a bucket full of compost from the large bins across the garden, and mixed it together with the existing soil (we left the kale that had sprouted up, and figured it would enjoy the company!).

Then he transported the starts from the greenhouse.

Next up, he shaped holes in the soil, and dropped the broccoli and beets into the ground.

Lastly, he surveyed his work.

We also cleaned and planted the other side of the archway.

Both sides complete!
