You Know It's Almost Football Season When...

A high school marching band is out practicing. The kids and I were running by Alhambra High this week when we saw and heard the band on Knowles Field.

We stopped for an hour, and watched them shuffle around the field, keeping the beat as they changed shapes from "A" to "H" to "S".

The kids climbed the bleachers as I tried to figure out what song they were playing.  It sounded familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. Then, after 10 notes or so....Glory Days, by Bruce Springsteen!

Brenna was excited about that, and picked up on it too (Glory Days is one of Granma Peggy's songs...)

The Bulldogs season starts up on the road at College Park on August 24th - their home opener against Rancho Cotate is on 8/31.  Looking forward to getting the kids out to a game!
