Thoughts and notes about our family's weekly trips to the Center Avenue Community Garden, and other happenings around Martinez (and the East Bay). The garden is located at 333 Center Avenue, on the border of Pacheco and Martinez.

In Three Months at the Center Avenue Community Garden
All the garden beds and open spaces are shared, so everyone is welcome to plant and share in the harvest.
If you would like to plant, feel free to stop by on a Saturday, and there should be a 'garden host' who can point you to an open section of a garden bed. We're currently cleaning up some of the beds, and preparing them for the winter crops, so there should be plenty of space if you'd like to plant.
If you happen to see straw spread around a bed, that means that there is something planted underneath. Let me know if you have any other questions.
How does one join and does one get one's own plot to work? Seems like there is community work, but can we grow our own food, etc., there?
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the note!
